Dr. Alfonso M. Prado
Dr. Alfonso Prado has a long and distinguished medical career, which includes founding Neonatology Consultants of Corpus Christi nearly 30 years ago. Dr. Prado received his medical education at the National University of Trujillo, Peru. He completed his medical residency in Peru and finished his medical internship at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, New York in 1969.
By 1971, Dr. Prado was a Fellow and Chief Resident in Neonatology at the University of Texas Medical School. The next four years, he worked as an instructor and assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. He served as Director of Neonatology at Driscoll Children’s Hospital for 27 years until 2003 and subsequently was appointed as Medical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital South.
Dr. Prado is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.
Dr. Euming Chong
Dr. Euming Chong joined Neonatology Consultants of Corpus Christi in 2014. She completed her medical school at University of Western Ontario, Canada in 2002 and completed her pediatric residency at Wayne State University, Detroit in 2005. She then entered her neonatal-perinatal fellowship training in Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia and completed that training in 2008. She was an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Tulane University, New Orleans, LA prior to joining our group.
Board certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatal Perinatal Medicine, Dr. Chong is active in residency teaching and serves on the residency committee at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. She is also part of the transport committee at Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Miguel A. DeLeon
Dr. Miguel A. DeLeon joined Neonatology Consultants of Corpus Christi in 1991. Graduating at the top of his class from medical school at Universidad de Monterrey, he completed his residency in pediatrics at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in 1988. Subsequently, he pursued further specialization through a fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Dr. DeLeon became an assistant professor for the Department of Pediatrics at Texas A&M University System Health Science Center in 1998. He’s been honored with numerous awards for his medical expertise, including Teaching Attending Physician of the Year, Excellence in Teaching Pediatric Residents and most recently, 2009 Physician of the Year for the March of Dimes. He is currently the Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area.
Dr. DeLeon is Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.
